Chestnut Hill, Living Room
I love sharing before and after images with everyone. Our website portfolio and Facebook posts only (currently) share the after images -- but I think seeing the before images really shows the impact that small (and some large) changes can really make on a space. Enjoy.

Back Story: These homeowners were looking to update and decorate their Royal Barry Wills designed home. We started in the living room by designing flanking bookshelves left and right of the cased opening to the dining room creating depth to the two rooms and filling in the unusable space of the living room. The new bookshelves were designed to coordinate with the existing bookcase and millwork used around the fireplace.
Once the shell of the space had been designed, we worked on decorating the interior of the room. The client's existing area rug was used as our starting point for wall color and fabric selections. It's a gorgeous piece that had been in the client's family for years. We pulled the subtle blue out for the wall color and the neutral background color for the upholstery.
Accent lighting was added to the existing and new bookcases to highlight the client's collected items. The lighting also added some additional architectural interest to the space.
While the added bookcases have a huge impact on the space, they also feel as though they've always been there! Which is just what we wanted.
