Nearly a year ago we moved into our current studio space. I spent last summer managing more than just my business and took on my toughest client, myself. There were many weekends spent painting, building custom walls and bookshelves, and constantly moving or reorganizing furniture to bring the studio to life . It seems fitting now a year later, almost to the day, that our studio is a dream work space fulfilled and I'm so excited to finally share it with you.
The photo below is a rendering I posted last June announcing our excitement and ideas for the studio. I always had a clear idea on how I wanted the studio to work spatially and made the natural light the studio gave, a central focus. Travel through a virtual tour of the studio below and see how we turned this..
We diverted from the original rendering of having two work islands to one large one. We wanted a space to gather over the decisions being made. A space where we could lay out plans, rugs, swatch schemes, and even lighting. The skylight fills the studio with vibrant, natural light that guides our focus to the textures and colors that surround us every day.
This year has brought rewarding opportunities full of challenge and growth. Aside from taking on new clients and managing all-hands-in projects, I got married, opened a store (see SYD+SAM blog!), and finalized my dream work space.
To say I feel fulfilled by the hard work accomplished in this space is cutting it short. I am inspired every day by this space and I hope you love the way it came out as much as we do! Here's to another year of learning and growing!
