BACK TO THE FUTURE…
A young family of five had a clear vision: to transform their five-bedroom, four-bathroom home from a dated 1980s aesthetic into a modern, family-friendly space. The updates included new wide white oak floors, new cabinetry and furnishings. The sharp angles throughout its interiors, presenting both opportunities and challenges. The family wanted a design that would reflect their lifestyle, accommodate their growing children, and maximize the home’s distinctive features. Rather than trying to hide the home’s many angles, we embraced them. Custom furniture was selected to fit the unique layout and echo the home’s architecture. A built-in designed out of white oak and metal flanking the living room fireplace provides ample space for wood storage and accessories while celebrating the homes ceiling height and angles. Given the presence of young children, performance fabrics and rounded furniture edges were used throughout the space to ensure a comfortable environment.
