FITTING INTO THE FAULT LINES...

This home, facing Sugarbush Mountain Resort, is tucked away on an old logging road in the heart of Warren, Vermont. A modern ski house at heart, its environmental structure and perpendicular placement make the gorgeous mountain views a feature of the home. From top to bottom, this new construction project allowed Emily to stretch the clients’ style and bring a crisp rustic aesthetic to the hills of Vermont.

Furniture was carefully selected for each room to be as light and unobtrusive as possible, so as not to block the view. A great example of this is the delicate and airy, dining room chandelier that allows the view to transcend through the lighting fixture. Colors and textures of the surrounding landscape were integrated into each room, in order to blur the lines between indoors and out. Rich woods and Vermont slate were just some of the materials used to tie the interiors back to the outdoor surrounding environment.
